Dividend report: May 2019

It's time to give an update of the dividends I received last month. Six companies decided to pay me a dividend for my ownership. Total dividends (after tax) are around €105, which is an increase of more than 30%. The growth was fueled by big dividend increases from KMI, DE and my relatively new position in AT&T.

My annual dividend income hovers around € 1.310 before taxes. It's been my best May by far. Last two years I received around € 80 during this month.


In terms of cumulative dividend income I am about 40% ahead compared to last year.




I hope I am able to purhase some new shares next month. Let's keep rocking!

Dividend raise: Baxter (+16%)

Baxter International Inc. (BAX) announced earlier in May an approximately 16% increase in the company’s quarterly dividend rate. This rate increase was made in connection with the declaration of a quarterly cash dividend of $0.22 per share of common stock (up from $0.19 per share).

I own 22 shares of BAX, so my annual dividend income increased with just over € 2. This is my 15th dividend raise in 2019 so far. All these raises combined have added almost € 42 to my annual dividend income. Even though the raises tend to be a little bit smaller than last year, let's keep it up!

Dividend raise: IBM (+3%)

A few days ago International Business Machines (IBM) announced a dividend raise. Their quarterly dividend payment was increased from $ 1,57 to $ 1,62 which is an increase of 3,2%. The raise is modest but I guess IBM needs to preseve some of their cashflow given the recent acquisition of RedHat.

Since my investment in IBM almost 5 years ago, they've managed to increase their dividend by about 9% per year on average. So really I've got nothing to complain on that front.

 

The raise from IBM was my 14th raise this year. Together these raises have added almost € 40 to my expected yearly dividend income (before taxes). Let's hope the other remaining companies follow suit with a nice raise!
