Monthly update: October 2013

The month has passed and it's my favorite time, giving an update of my dividend portfolio. Generally US markets have been up, although EUR.USD-rates have gone up. This diminishes my annual dividend stream but also my portfolio value when looked at in euro's. This month I initiated a new position in Baxter International Inc, so I don't plan on any new purchases next month.

Purchases
  • 22 shares of Baxter International @ $66.83 (incl. commissions)
Dividends received
  • KO: 37 shares @ $0.28 for a total of $10.36
  • PM: 17 shares @ $0.94 for a total of $15.98
Total: $26.34 (~ €20 pre-tax)

Dividend increases
  • None
Portfolio value
Though it's not a pre-defined goal to archieve a certain amount of networth, I'd like to monitor this progress as well. The value of my portfolio is €11.700 (as of November 1). This is an increase of €1.300 compared to last period, which can be attributed (mainly) to a deposit of €1.000 to fund the purchase of Baxter.

Yearly forward dividend
My 12-month forward dividend rate is now €400, compared to €372 last month. My purchase of Baxter adds about €30 per year.

How was your month? What are your plans for the coming month? Keep investing your money or build a cash position to use when the markets might move downward?

  1. Bought BAX recently too, got it for 65.70, also I was looking to add some BP shares, but unfortunately they made a big jump in price so added KMI instead

    1. Thanks for stopping by! You entered BAX at a nice price. KMI also sounds solid, but I am not too familiar with the company and the structure. I wish you all the best with your investments!
