Monthly update: August 2013

The month has passed and it's my favorite time, giving an update of my dividend portflio. This month I've initiated two new positions, Unilever and Coca Cola. Generally markets have been down a bit although that's not a big problem since I am not selling shares anyway.

Purchases
In total I deposited $3.000 in capital which roughly equates to €2.250. I've purchased two blocks of shares:
  • 37 KO @ $40.15 (adds ~ $41 to my yearly forward rate)
  • 37 UNA @ € 29.87 (adds ~ €40 to my yearly forward rate)
Dividends received
  • TGH: 43 shares @ $0.47 for a total of $20.21
Dividend increases
  • None
Portfolio value
Though it's not a pre-defined goal to archieve a certain amount of networth, I'd like to monitor this progress as well. The value of my portfolio is €10.300 (as of September 1).

Yearly forward dividend
My 12-month forward dividend rate is now €375. This is an increase of €75 from last month due mostly because of two purchases but also because of a small decline in the EUR.USD rate.

  1. Solid month and you are starting to make nice progress. I really like Unilever and wouldn't mind adding (UL) to my portfolio at some point.

    1. Hi All About Interest, thanks for stopping by and for your kind words. I agree with your statement about Unilever. What's holding you back to invest?

  2. I'm planning on eventually getting a position in Unilever and Nestle. Both are worldwide brands with less exposure to the US where most of my portfolio is concentrated. And obviously KO is at the top of the class when it comes to DG investments.

It's great to see those dividends roll in and help you compound your wealth.

    1. Yeah I would like to buy Nestle as well. The only downside is that it is traded in Swiss francs so costs for acquiring shares with dividends are relatively high (or really slow!), compared to EUR or USD.
