Monthly Update: July 2015

It's that time of the month again! I am late because I just returned from my holiday. It's a nice feeling to be away for three weeks yet still get paid a few bucks for owning shares in some wonderful companies.

After the big losses in my portfolio last month, this month showed some black numbers again. In the table below I have presented some benchmark indicators of general market indices and my own dividend growth portfolio.

July 2015
IndicatorAs of 30-6As of 31-7% change
S&P 500 Total Return3.8163.896+2,1%
Dow Jones Industrials Total Return35.66235.848+0,5%

USD.EUR0,90320,9082+0,6%
Portfolio value€ 23.631 € 24.074 +1,9%

However, since I am in it for the long haul I am not too interested in these daily or monthly fluctuations. What matters is that I keep focused on buying high quality companies which provide me with a steady stream of growing dividends.

Dividends received

Seven separate companies paid me dividends during this month.
  • BAX: 22 shares @ $0.52 for a total of $11.44
  • KO: 37 shares @ $0.33 for a total of $12.21
  • PM: 17 shares @ $1.00 for a total of $17.00
Total: around €31 after tax which is about 30% more than last year in July. That's looking good!

Dividend increases
  • KMI increased their quarterly dividend from $0.48 to $0.49 (+2.1%). This adds roughly €2 to my annual dividend income.
  • OHI increased their quarterly dividend from $0.54 to $0.55 (+1.6%). This adds roughly €2 to my annual dividend income.
Yearly forward dividend
My 12-month forward dividend rate is now €985, compared to €985 last month. I am inching towards the€1000 dividend income per year milestone. It depends on the EUR.USD rate whether I will reach this milestone with my next purchase.

Seeking Alpha articles
In the past month I write one article on Seeking Alpha about Omega Healthcare Investors. Check it out here: http://seekingalpha.com/article/3315655-omega-healthcare-investors-a-healthcare-reit-that-under-promised-and-over-delivered-in-the-last-decade

How was your month? What are your plans for the coming month? Which companies are you looking at to add to your portfolio?
