The month has passed and it's my favorite time, giving an update of my dividend portfolio. Generally US markets have been up. I've iniated a new position in OHI. You can read about it here and here.
Purchases
Purchases
- OHI: 59 shares @ $30.20 for a total of $1.782. This purchase adds $113 to my yearly annual dividend income (roughly €82)
Dividends received
My 12-month forward dividend rate is now €485, compared to €405 last month. This increase is due to the purchase of OHI.
How was your month? What are your plans for the coming month? Keep investing your money or build a cash position to use when the markets might move downward?

- KO: 37 shares @ $0.28 for a total of $10.36
- UNI: 37 shares @ €0.27 for a total of €9.99
Total: around $50 (~ €32 pre-tax)

Portfolio value
Though it's not a pre-defined goal to archieve a certain amount of networth, I'd like to monitor this progress as well. The value of my portfolio is at €13.400 (as of January 2). This is an increase of €1.600 compared to last month. This is mostly because of new capital inflow (€1.250) but also because of stock price appreciation.

Just discovered your blog. Congrats on your passive income and best wishes for 2014. Happy Investing
ReplyDeleteHeya R2R, thanks for taking the time to comment! It's still small potatoes compared to others, but it is the beginning of an ever increasing snowball! Good luck in 2014 to you as well.
ReplyDeleteSolid December for you. $50 might seem small now but as you reinvest and get more dividend increases and invest fresh capital that $50 will grow to $100 then $200 then $500 until one day you reach FI. I'll be building cash for a rental property and hopefully some better opportunities in the markets. At least that's the plan.
ReplyDeleteHi PIP, thanks for stopping by again! You are right about the growth of the income stream, one day it will support us financially in whatever way is necessary. Until then, we'll have to try and to put as much money as possible to work for us ;)
DeleteYour well on your way. Best of luck in 2014
ReplyDeleteHey CaptainDividend, thanks for the best wishes! Of course I wish you all the best this year as well! Got any purchases planned anytime soon?
DeleteI'm still trying to figure out what to buy for my next purchase. It looks like I have a couple weeks to go before I have the capital to make a purchase so I have plenty of time to decide. I'll keep ya posted.
DeleteYeah same here about the capital deployment. Looking forward to hearing from you!
DeleteRobin,
ReplyDeleteGreat job. You're off to a really nice start here. The dividend income grows quicker than you might expect. Just keep at it and your future self will be very grateful you did. :)
Best wishes!
Heya Dividend Mantra, thanks for taking the time to reply. It's an honor having you here! :)
DeleteYeah I am feeling really confident about the steps I took in the last few months. I have a clear plan for this year about what I would like to achieve. I only have to execute it. The results in the future will make my future self really happy! Good luck in 2014 for you as well.
