Dividend raise: Exxon Mobil (+6%)

On 24th of April Exxon Mobil (XOM) announced their yearly dividend raise. It's quarterly dividend was raised from $ 0,82 to $ 0,87, which is a 6% increase. Since I own 17 shares, my annual dividend income grows by about € 3 before taxes. Not much but I'll take it any day!

This marks the 6th dividend raise I receive from XOM since purchasing shares back in 2013. The average dividend growth during this period is roughly 6%. Coupled with a dividend yield of 4% makes this a reasonable investment. Nothing special, but still ok.

In 2019 I received 13 dividend raises so far. My annual dividend income increased by € 38 (before taxes). Exxon's raise is about average. In any case, let's keep 'em coming!

Dividend raise: Unilever (+6%)

Last week Unilever raised their quarterly dividend from € 0,3872 to € 0,4104. This is a raise of 6%. Since I am the owner of 50 share in Unilever, this raises my annual dividend income with roughly € 4,50 before taxes. I recently added to my position in Unilever, so it's nice that my new shares start with an increased dividend right of the bat :-)

I am an owner of Unilever since July 2013. Since then I have received 6 raised (each year) and the dividend growth rate during that period is just shy of 8%. This is just fantastic in my book and makes me want to buy more Unilever shares in the future!

This is my 12th raise this year. The raised together have added around € 35 in my annual dividend income (before taxes). I expect to receive several more raises this year. Maybe even Shell? One can hope, right?

Are you satisfied with the dividend raise of Unilever? Are you maybe contemplating adding to your position?

Dividend raise: Kinder Morgan (+25%)

A few days ago KinderMorgan announced a dividend raise of 25%! Their quarterly dividend is increased from $0,20 tot $0,25 per share. Since I own 48 shares of KMI, my annual dividend income increases with roughly € 8,50 before taxes. That's a really nice dividend raise from KinderMorgan!

KMI have come a long way since their dividend cut in the beginning of 2016. The new dividend is still only half of what it used to be, but it seems they are on the right track.

In 2019 I received 11 dividend raises so far. My annual dividend income inceased by € 30 (before taxes). KMI's raise is by far the biggest, both in terms of %-increase but also with its impact on my annual dividend income. Let's keep 'em coming!

Do you have a position in KMI? What do you expect for the future of this company?

Recent buy: Unilever

Earlier in April I bought 13 shares of Unilever (UNA) for € 51,69 per share. The total amount of money invested is € 671,97. Unilever currently pays an annual dividend of € 1,55 per share so with this purchase my yearly dividend income increases with € 17 after tax.

I already own 37 shares, so as of now I own 50 shares. The main reasons for my purchase are:

  • Unilever currently seems fairly valued (P/E of 15x)
  • Unilever is a stable company which has performed nicely since I am an owner (since July 2013).
  • I want to increase my Euro-denominated positions to reduce the impact of forex-changes on my portfolio.

With my monthly deposits and dividend income I expect to do another purchase in three months.

What do you think of my purchase of Unilever? Are you currently looking to open (or add) a position in Unilever?

Dividend raise - Realty Income

Two weeks ago Realty Income (O) announced a raise in their monthly dividend from $0,2255 to $0,226. This raise adds a whopping € 0,13 to my annual dividend income. Ka-ching!

All jokes aside, Realty Income increases their dividend on more than one occasion each year, so hopefully there's more to come this year!

So far I received 10 dividend raises in 2019. These raises combined have added around € 22 to my forward annual dividend income. Of course I expect more raises during the rest of the year. I'll keep you updated!

Did you like the dividend raise of O? Do you consider selling because of the low dividend growth rate?

Dividend report - March 2019

It's time to give an update of the dividends I received last month. Ten companies decided to pay me a dividend for my ownership. Total dividends (after tax) are around €153. My highest amount ever! This is 17% more than last year.

You can see the breakdown in the table below.

The report shows all sorts of things! Firstly there are big dividend raises from UNP and BBL. And there are smaller raises in the range of 3 to 7% from different companies. Finally the dividend raises in their correspending currencies are between 9 and 12%. However, due to the change in USD.EUR rate the dollar growth accelerates when exchanged into EUR.

Yearly dividend income (before taxes) stands at around €1270 which is a slight increase since last report. This is due to recent dividend raises, dividend reinvestment from my investment in RDS and a slightly favorable USD.EUR currency exchange rate.
